The front door we put on our home says a lot about who we are. It can show that we are traditional, open and transparent, or even a bit zany. However, some doors just blend in. When we want them to stand out, the best thing to do is make them the focal point of the front of your home. That way, when someone drives past, they can see that you have a focus on welcoming in friends and neighbors. Here are a few ideas if you want to create a focal point out of your entryway.

Start with Color

No matter what type of door you have, color is going to be a big factor. If your door is old and faded, it may be time to see if painting it will do. In many cases, you will need to replace the door to get the look you want. The damage a door takes while baking in the sun can be difficult to cover up. That’s when you should look for a new door that is the color you want to pop when looking at your house.

Maybe You Need a Bit of New Decor

If your door is solid and sturdy, then you need to look next at some décor. Would your door stand out if there was some garland around it or a new light next to it? Maybe you need to set up your porch with a few accents that draw the attention to your door. Your entryway will stand out more simply by adding something new to the area.

Windows Are Another Great Option

If you opt for a new door, you may also want to consider whether or not you want to add windows. Do you want a window in the door itself? Perhaps you want windows surrounding the door. You can have a lot of fun decorating windows to create a beautiful entryway. You just have to decide which setup is going to work best for your home.
