A new door, whether a front door, slider, or otherwise, can give your house a major upgrade. For a minimal investment, a new door can provide energy savings, more sunlight, or a facelift to your home’s exterior. If you are considering a new door sometime in 2019, be sure to read a few of the projected trends for the new year. While trends may come and go, most home exterior trends are far more consistent and classic than other design trends. Use our list to find something you love (or something you hate), which can give you the inspiration to choose the door that is best for you.

Bold Colors and Warm Neutrals

Your front door doesn’t need to feel boring. Express yourself and your personal style by adding a pop of color to your home’s exterior with your front door. Bold colors are still popular, proving to be a trend that has lasted for years. The color of choice for front doors lately? A lovely emerald green.

If you shy away from bold colors, you can still paint your front door and stay on trend. Warm neutrals work well with almost every home. Try a shade of gray to add some design interest without making it feel too busy.

Grids Are Back

While grids are not trending for windows, doors featuring small or intricate grids are showing up in design rooms throughout the country. If you aren’t sure if grids are good for you, don’t try it on your front door. Instead, add intrigue to your backdoor by choosing a door with a trendy grid pattern.

Oversized Sliders

If you are looking to replace your slider this year, you may consider making some room for an oversized version. Increase your view, and add plenty of natural light into your space, by making your slider glass panes larger than usual.

We love watching how a new door can truly transform a home, inside and out. We know you’ll love it too. Give the design professionals at Rusco a call today; we are ready to help you find a door you will love for years to come.
