Window treatments can go a long way for making your new door look even better, as well as be one additional way to express your personal style. 

Your treatments for your new door don’t have to be major to make a big difference. After all, you want the treatments to look beautiful but not impact the function of the door or access to it. Here are a few options that look great for you to consider. 

Vertical and Horizontal Blinds

Blinds are a classic choice that look great on any door. Today, homeowners have a variety of choices for blinds. Common materials include wood (natural or faux), or vinyl. You may also choose to have the blinds as a part of your custom door; just be sure to talk to your Rusco representative during the design process to make it happen.

Blinds provide privacy and the option to decrease the natural light filtering through the door. Further, blinds can add to the architecture or visual interest of the door, making it a statement piece that anchors your entire room. 

Curtains, Drapes, and Cornice Boards

If blinds are not your style, consider adding a splash of color and texture by using drapes or curtains. Using a sheer fabric will not make your room seem dark and can be especially beautiful in a kitchen or living room space. In contrast, using a heavier fabric can dim natural light which may be especially helpful if your door is in a bedroom. 

If you don’t want fabric hanging from your door, but you do want to add color, a cornice board treatment is your best choice. Adding a cornice board adds to the drama without taking away from the natural light or from your view.
