It’s about this time each year that we have Chicagoland clients call us to talk about increasing the natural light in their home. It’s no surprise – winter is an awfully dark and dreary time here in the suburbs. Everyone wants more daylight and springtime is the ideal season to start any type of exterior home project. This year, if you are craving more natural light in your home, let the team at Rusco help guide you through the process.

Here are a few of our favorite spaces to brighten up, thanks to any of our custom window options.

The Living Room

Your living room already has windows, but you may not have enough. Thanks to more contemporary design inspiration, homes throughout the Chicago suburbs are increasing their living room natural light by adding more windows and doors that let the light in. If you don’t think your living room needs more windows, you could still benefit by replacing old and dingy windows that no longer let the maximum amount of light inside your home.

Powder Rooms

Main floor powder rooms are small, but they are also mighty pieces of homeowner style. Don’t let your powder room seem dark and scary. Instead, consider adding light with a custom window or sky tunnel. Even a small window will make a huge difference.

Bonus Room

If you have converted a space above your garage or elsewhere into a bonus room for the kids, a man cave, or other functional space, you could probably benefit from a little extra light. Consider adding custom windows or a skylight to maximize the amount of sunlight in the space.

Bathrooms

Chances are, your bathrooms have a small window if they have one at all. Unfortunately, this small window is not giving you access to air and light that you may want. When you invest in a custom window for your bathroom, you are immediately updating the space and even increase the resale value.

Are there rooms in your home that are just too dark for your taste? Call the team at Rusco to start the process of creating custom window solutions that will brighten up your entire home.
