When you invest in a new custom window for your home, you may tend to be extra protective of it in order to keep it looking like new for as long as possible. However, with the holiday season in full swing, it can be tempting to add your custom window to your home’s interior and exterior decorating scheme. Here are a few ways to decorate your custom window without causing any damage.

Battery Operated Candles

We love the look of a single battery-operated candle in each window of the home. It’s classic and beautiful, which can make it a welcome relief from the rest of the colorful twinkle in the neighborhood. Some battery-operated candles have a sensor and will turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn, or at another time you set. These candles can be placed easily on the window frame or shelf, which can make it an easy decision if your custom window has one.

Use the Curtain Rod

You don’t have to get out a nail or tack in order to hang beautiful decorations on your custom window. Try using the curtain rod! Hang garland in swags from the curtain rod or use fishing wire to hang ornaments at varying heights to add some extra holiday pizazz.

Protect Your Frames

When hanging decorations outside, be careful to protect the casing and frame of your custom windows. When possible do not add hooks or nails to the casing of your window, choosing instead to use temporary hooks to other parts of your house’s exterior.

Wreaths and Ribbons

You can add a bit of greenery to your custom window by hanging a wreath with a long ribbon looped over the curtain rod. This dramatic effect will decorate the interior and exterior of your house and looks especially beautiful with round or oval custom window shapes.
