It may not feel like it now, but we all know that autumn will be here before we know it. Instead of getting caught trying to figure out how to make your front entry even more inviting at the last minute, now may be the best time to figure out how to jazz up your entryway to your home. Here are some ideas to make sure your home stands out and invites your friends and family right into your home.

Make Sure Your Door Stands Out

The first thing people see about your front entry, before they even get out of the car in most instances, is your door. Is your door old, faded, or out of sync with your home? If so, then updating it now gives you the best opportunity to make sure it is ready when autumn arrives. A new pop of color, a front door with some gorgeous glass work, or adding in a screen door can add to your home’s curb appeal and wow factor. Go with something slightly unexpected and use it as a conversation piece.

Create Organized Chaos

One part of the front entry of many homes that we all struggle with at times is keeping the area clean and organized. Use this time to create areas where the chaos belongs. Buy bins, baskets, and shelves that match your autumn motif. This then gives you places to put your keys, mail, and shoes. You can use this opportunity to add in some reds, oranges, and yellows without them seeming out of place. Plus, when people come over, everything in your entryway looks organized and neat.

Accessorize Your Front Entry Inside and Out

Many people remember to put decorations either inside the doorway or out, but not always both. Take a moment and look around. Put up little accessories that show how into this wonderful season you are. Use some mini-pumpkins and pine cones to create whimsy. Add a fall-inspired garland around a column or stair rail. Put some clings on the windows around the entry of your home that can be seen from both inside and out. Have fun with your front entry. This is a great time of year to show off some personality.
