Your front door is one of the first things your guests see when they come to your home. It plays a part in your curb appeal, of course, but it’s more than that. It’s the focal point of the front of your home, and you want it to look great. Here are a few reasons why you may want to consider getting a new door before the holiday season begins.

Your Guests Will Notice

When they arrive, guests aren’t going to be carefully looking at your trees, shrubs, or other parts of your yard. They’re going to be in a hurry to get in, especially if they have packages or food that they’ve brought for your holiday gathering. However, unless you’re waiting for them at the door, they are likely going to spend a little more time standing there. This gives them time to take a good look at your front door. They may pick up on cracks in the paint or scratches at the bottom. Any little defect may stick out. While no one is likely to comment on this, they may unconsciously pick up on the wear and tear on the door. This can make them more aware of other wear and tear throughout your home.

It Will Give Your Home a New Look

It might not seem like changing your front door will do that much to change your home, but it truly can. This is especially true if your new door is very different from your old one. It can transform how your entryway looks, both inside and out. If your new door is a different color from the old one, it can make the exterior of your home feel very different. You can extend that change by switching out the décor and even repainting parts of the front of your home to complement the door. By the time you’re done, your doorstep may seem like it’s brand new.
